"Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God." (2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 NASB1995)
We live in a day and time when love is being regarded as
hate, and hate is being regarded as love, when humans are those to be
worshipped, while God and his Word are to be ignored and cast aside as irrelevant.
So, if you speak the truth of God’s Word, it is now being regarded as hate or
as bigotry. But if you speak the lies which tickle itching ears, then it is
regarded as love. But it is love which speaks the truth which saves lives from
hell, and it is hate to lie to people to make them feel good while you condemn
them to hell.
Now, I am being led of the Lord here to address this issue
of worship of the physical nation of Israel which, as a nation, has denied
Jesus Christ as their Messiah, and thus they are antichrist, not of God. They
do not worship the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, because they do not
believe in Jesus Christ. And Abraham is not their spiritual father because they
reject Jesus Christ as the promised seed of Abraham, who is the Israel of God
who was yet to come and has come. So they are not to receive our veneration.
Nonetheless, the physical and political nation of Israel is
being raised up to God-like status, and Christians are being strongly
encouraged and pushed towards giving that godless nation their undivided
loyalties, devotion, faith, support, and praise, as though they are God’s
chosen nation, beloved of God, protected by God, and inspired by God. But they
are none of that. There is a small percentage of Jews who believe in Jesus
Christ, but the political nation of Israel is not of God, not his chosen
people.
But it is being pushed upon us that they are the Israel of
God, and that they, as a physical and political nation, are the chosen of God
who are above all else. Thus, it is plausible that the nation of Israel could
be this “man of lawlessness” who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called
god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God,
displaying himself as being God. For this kind of image and worship of the
nation of Israel is definitely being strongly pushed upon us who are
Christians.
And the temple of God is the body of believers in Jesus
Christ, the church. And the physical nation of Israel has definitely taken his
seat in the church in a position to be worshipped and treated as though he is
above all the rest of us and as though he deserves our worship and our support
and our faith and devotion. And we are being pushed to give this nation our
faith in them, and our belief that they are of God, and that all the evil that
they are doing in the world is of God, and so we are to approve of all that
they are doing.
For what is apostasy? It is turning away from Christ and
from his teachings, and it is embracing, instead, the false teachings of man.
It is a denial of Christ and his Word in favor of the teachings of man. It is a
decision of the will of human beings to follow after the lies and to reject the
truth. And this is happening massively in the USA today! It is choosing to be
led by false teachers who teach what is contrary to the Scriptures while
denying and ignoring what Jesus and his New Testament apostles taught, in
context.
First and foremost this is happening within the
institutional market-driven “churches” (businesses incorporated and merged with
the state) which are predominant here in America, most of which have
compromised the Scriptures and the gospel of Christ and the character of God
and of his church in order to make them more acceptable to the ungodly and to
human flesh. So many people now have rejected the biblical gospel to go after a
gospel of man which permits them to keep on in their sins, judgement free.
But what is also taking place, parallel to this, is this
push toward seeing the physical and political and godless nation of Israel as
the Israel of God who is to be venerated above all else, and who is to be believed
above all others, including above God and the teachings of the Scriptures, so
much so that many are treating that nation as they are a god, while they are
refusing to believe God and his word and to bow to the Lord in genuine biblical
worship of him in death to sin and in walks of obedience to his commands.
So, does it appear that, in our day and time, we now live in
this era of apostasy where the man of lawlessness is exalting himself above all
else, who is taking his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being
at least in a God-like position to where he is to be worshipped above God and
above Jesus Christ and above the teachings of the Scriptures? I believe we
could develop a strong case for this to be true based upon where we are now in
history and the things which are presently taking place in the world.
So, please know what the Scriptures teach on this subject.
For they teach that all who deny Jesus Christ are the antichrist. And they
teach that it is not the physical descendants of Abraham who are the children
of God, but it is all who have trusted in Jesus Christ to be Lord and Savior of
their lives, who have died with him to sin, and who are now walking in
obedience to his commands. According to the Scriptures, we are the Israel of
God, not a godless nation which denies Jesus Christ as their Lord and Messiah.

Christ’s Free Servant, Sue J Love
“Come to Me all you
who thirst; come to waters.
Listen to Me, and
eat what’s good today,
And your soul will
delight in richest of fare.
Give ear to Me, and
you will live.
I have made an
eternal covenant with you.
Wash in the blood of
the Lamb.”
Seek the Lord while
He may be found; call on Him.
Let the wicked
forsake his way, in truth.
Let him turn to the
Lord, and he will receive mercy.
Freely, God pardons
him.
“For My thoughts are
not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My
ways,”
declares the Lord,
our God.
“My word that goes
out of My mouth is truthful.
It will not return
to Me unfulfilled.
My word will
accomplish all that I desire,
And achieve the goal
I intend.
You will go in joy
and be led forth in peace.
The mountains will
burst into song… before you,
And all of the trees
clap their hands.”
