“Thus said the Lord to me: ‘Go and stand in the People's Gate, by which the kings of Judah enter and by which they go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem, and say: “Hear the word of the Lord, you kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, who enter by these gates.”’” (Jeremiah 17:19-20 ESV)
Now, at the time this was written, the “People’s Gate” was a physical place by which people physically entered in and went out. All the gates were, as far as I can tell. For me now, though, the “People’s Gate” is the internet, for that is where the people are, and that is where we can presently go and speak to the people the words of the Lord, at least for now, and at least in America we can. That could all change tomorrow in a heartbeat.
So, for me, the Lord saying to go stand in the People’s Gate, and in all the gates of Jerusalem, and say, “Hear the word of the Lord,” was my calling of God to write down what he was/is teaching me from his word each day and to post these writings on the internet so that a runner (a herald), i.e. the internet could “Run With It.” And to “stand” is to take a stand on the truths of the Scriptures and to not back down from the truth due to opposition.
And right now the most important message that needs to get out to the people is the message of the gospel of our salvation, but as Jesus taught it, and as his NT apostles taught it, and not as is so commonly being taught today as “the gospel.” For so many have reduced the gospel to a “get-out-of-jail-free-card” which does nothing to change the heart of the sinner nor to change his sinful life course, but which promises him heaven upon death.
So, in contrast to the lies that so many are spreading under the name of the gospel of Christ and of our salvation, it is critically important that we are able to get out the truth to the people. For if they follow the lies, and they don’t repent of their sins, and they don’t follow Jesus Christ in obedience to his commands in holy living, but they continue in their sinful practices and in living life however they want, they will not inherit eternal life with God.
For Jesus said:
“And he said to all, ‘If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself? For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when he comes in his glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.’” (Luke 9:23-26 ESV)
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’” (Matthew 7:21-23 ESV)
And the NT apostles taught:
“We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.” “We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.” “Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions.” (Romans 6:4,6,12 ESV)
“Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?” “But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life.” (Romans 6:16,22 ESV)
“This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.” (1 John 1:5-7 ESV)
“And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says ‘I know him’ but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected.” (1 John 2:3-5 ESV)

Should I Not Preach Jesus
An Original Work / July 4, 2013
Based off 1 Corinthians 9:16-10:13
Woe to me should I not preach Jesus.
I’m compelled to preach the full gospel.
I make myself a slave to ev’ryone
To win their hearts to Christ.
All this I do for my Lord Jesus,
And for the sake of His Name;
Do it for the sake of His gospel,
So that I, its blessings gain.
Scripture notates the sins of others;
Written down for us as examples
To keep us from setting our hearts
On evil as did those of old.
Do not worship other gods of man;
Do not give your hearts to them;
Not partake in immorality.
Do not test your Lord and King.
So, be careful if you think you are
Standing firm in your faith in Jesus.
God has given his word to warn us,
So through faith we will not fall.
No temptation has o’ertaken you
Except what is commonplace.
God is faithful to not let you be
Tempted past what you can bear.
He gives the way of escape.
