Also read 1 Samuel 8:10-22 to see the consequences of choosing a human king over making God our only Lord and King. I believe with all my heart that this is where we are again in history and that the Lord is warning his people today against putting their trust in humans to lead them rather than them putting their trust in God alone as their only King.
