“Yet because of false brothers secretly brought in—who slipped in to spy out our freedom that we have in Christ Jesus, so that they might bring us into slavery— to them we did not yield in submission even for a moment, so that the truth of the gospel might be preserved for you. And from those who seemed to be influential (what they were makes no difference to me; God shows no partiality)—those, I say, who seemed influential added nothing to me.” (Galatians 2:4-6 ESV)
Questions:
• Do we have “false brothers” among us within the church today?
• Are there false brothers who are influencing people wrongfully?
• Are most professing Christians resisting them & their influence?
• Or are most professing Christians yielding to their influence?
If we could all step back from our circumstances and our involvements in various organizations, and if we could step back from all the things that we were taught as children by our parents and our public school teachers, and by the church and the government and the news media, etc., and take an honest look at it all, prayerfully, seeking the counsel of the Lord, inquiring of the Lord to show us what we have wrong, and were taught wrong, and what we have right, I believe it might change our perspective on life.
For we all have these things we carry with us throughout our lives based on the lessons we learned early on in life unless something happens in our lives to alter those perceptions and to change our way of thinking. Well, at least I did. And I was very gullible and very trusting, which is strange considering my upbringing. But unless it was something that clearly contradicted the Scriptures, I took most things at face value for how they were presented to me, and I believed many of the lies that were taught me early on.
Then 20 years ago (this year) the Lord began to open my mind and heart to see that not everything I was taught was right, and that a lot of it was wrong, and so I went through this process, under the leading of the Holy Spirit, where I had to unlearn much that I had wrong, and learn what the truth really was about a lot of things. And these were not mostly biblical things, but they had to do with preachers and government heads and American history and our present form of government, and such as this.
For we not only have many “false brothers” among us within the gatherings of “the church,” but we have many of these “false brothers” (and sisters) within our governments, and within our educational systems, and within the medical community and businesses and finance, and in the news media, and the list goes on. Liars and deceivers are everywhere we look these days. And so many people are being duped by their lies and their deceptions because, like I was, they were brainwashed early on to believe people that we should not be believing, but we trusted them naively.
So, we need to pray and to ask the Lord to make us aware of the lies of the enemy that we are not perceiving, and to help us to see who the liars are and what the lies are that they are telling us. But we have to be willing to unlearn some things we learned wrongly early on, yet we must be careful that we are testing everything against the teachings of the Scriptures so that, in our desire to find truth, we don’t end up being trapped by even more lies and liars. So we just need to pray for God to open our blinded eyes.
For we have all sorts of people out there who work for the devil but who disguise themselves as servants of righteousness or as servants of the people who are looking out for our good, but who are really “wolves in sheep’s clothing” looking for whom they may devour and trap in their devices. So please don’t just get on board with this person or that person without praying and asking the Lord if these people are really serving God or themselves and/or the devil. But test everything against the Scriptures.
The really big one today is how so many people have diluted and altered the divine character of God/Christ, and of his church (his body), and of his gospel message of salvation, to make them more acceptable and attractive to the ungodly and to human flesh. But Jesus said if we come after him that we must deny self, die daily to sin (by the Spirit), and follow him in obedience to his commands if we want to have salvation from sin and eternal life in him.

For Our Nation
An Original Work / September 11, 2012
Bombs are bursting. Night is falling.
Jesus Christ is gently calling
You to follow Him in all ways.
Trust Him with your life today.
Make Him your Lord and your Savior.
Turn from your sin. Follow Jesus.
He will forgive you of your sin;
Cleanse your heart, made new within.
Men betraying: Our trust fraying.
On our knees to God we’re praying,
Seeking God to give us answers
That are only found in Him.
God is sovereign over all things.
Nothing from His mind escaping.
He has all things under His command,
And will work all for good.
Jesus Christ is gently calling
You to follow Him in all ways.
Men deceiving: We’re believing
In our Lord, and interceding
For our nation and its people
To obey their God today.
He is our hope for our future.
For our wounds He offers suture.
He is all we need for this life.
Trust Him with your life today.
