Habakkuk 2

Then the Lord replied: "Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay."

Has Life Given You Lemons?

Psalms 138:7-8 NASB

“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me;

You will stretch forth Your hand against the wrath of my enemies,

And Your right hand will save me.

The Lord will accomplish what concerns me;

Your lovingkindness, O Lord, is everlasting;

Do not forsake the works of Your hands.”

Sometimes “life gives us lemons,” i.e. life sometimes involves adversity, difficulties, trials, and tribulations. And these “lemons” are not always right out there in front of you where you can see them, but some of them are hidden, and secretive, and you can sense that they are there but you can’t prove that they are. Sometimes it is more in what people don’t say than it is in what they do say that can be unsettling, at times. Or what they do say seems out of character for them, and so you wonder what’s up.

Now, I am not promoting paranoia here. We do need to learn to discern truth from lies, and we must always be careful that we don’t accuse people falsely of what they did not do, even if we suspect them of wrongdoing. And we must be careful that we don’t let our suspicions get the best of us to where we go off on them and convince ourselves that they are true when we are not sure that they are. But we also should not believe every spirit, but we must test the spirits to see if they are true or not.

So, what am I saying here? I am saying that some dangers are hidden, and although there may be hints of them, we really have no physical evidence to prove that they exist. For this is how deception works, you know. It is not usually big and bold and obvious or otherwise not so many would be deceived. But it is usually hidden inside of other things and cloaked to look like one thing while another may be lurking underneath. So we do need to have our eyes and ears tuned into these possibilities.

So, if we are walking in the midst of trouble, the trouble may be big and bold and obvious, but it also may be hidden and mysterious. Again, guard against coming to conclusions that are not there, but also be aware that Satan likes to use “cloak and dagger” trickery, too. So don’t be so trusting that you end up falling into his traps. For there is a good balance in there somewhere to be found between being too trusting and too suspicious, too. And we should always pray through them all and trust the Lord with them.

The main thing here is that we are not to be afraid of either visible danger or the hidden dangers out there lurking. We must be wise and discerning, and we must not be naïve and overly trusting. So we must not cast off any thoughts of hidden dangers and lies and deception, or else we might be deceived. And we must never trust another human being fully, nor think anyone can be fully trusted, for liars and deceivers abound! So tread lightly, exercise wisdom and discernment, and above all pray!! Seek God’s face!

But through it all, give it all over to the Lord. Trust him with your life. Believe that he is completely sovereign over all that he created, and that he will not allow those who love him and who revere him to go through anything that he will not give us all that we need to endure. Now this is not saying that no evil will come against us. Jesus said we would be hated and persecuted and that we will have trials and tribulations, but that through them all we can be at peace if we yield our lives over to the Lord.

And please know that if you are a follower of Jesus Christ that God has your life in his hands, and he has a purpose for your life, and so he is going to work his purpose in your life as you yield to him complete control. And he may take you through some dark valleys, but he will be with you through them, and he will guide you along the way in what to do, so trust him. And I am definitely speaking these words into my own life, and I do believe the Lord is giving me this message for me, not just for me to share.
