Habakkuk 2

Then the Lord replied: "Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay."

Get Yourselves Ready

Jeremiah 1:13-16 BSB (Berean Standard Bible)

13Again the word of the LORD came to me, asking, “What do you see?” “I see a boiling pot,” I replied, “and it is tilting toward us from the north.” 14Then the LORD said to me, “Disaster from the north will be poured out on all who live in the land. 15For I am about to summon all the clans and kingdoms of the north,” declares the LORD.

“Their kings will come and set up their thrones

at the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem.

They will attack all her surrounding walls

and all the other cities of Judah.

16I will pronounce My judgments against them

for all their wickedness,

because they have forsaken Me,

and they have burned incense to other gods

and worshiped the works of their own hands.

For All Their Wickedness

Translated to our world today, this is speaking of the judgment of God against all who profess the name of Jesus but who are living the opposite of what God requires of us who profess His name. This is against all who have forsaken the Lord to go after the idols of this world, who are living immoral, sinful and wicked lives. Among them are those who engage in what is illegal, fake, manipulative, twisted, seductive, sexually immoral, and/or rebellious, and they do this habitually with hard hearts while faking the opposite.

Among them are those who are predators who spin webs of deceit in order to catch others in their snare. They are liars and deceivers who profess one thing with their lips while they live the opposite, who lead others astray with their lies, and who will lead others into sin, and/or who willfully misrepresent someone who is following the Lord Jesus, out of hatred and jealousy, and in order to destroy them and their reputation. Although they might profess love for God with their lips, their lifestyles and habits speak the opposite of that.

They Have Forsaken God

Sadly, so much of what is called “church” today, here in the USA, are businesses of human origin being marketed to the people of the world. They are designed to attract the world to their gatherings, and so they use gimmicks and entertainment to draw in large crowds of people from the world into their gatherings. Therefore, they also dilute and alter the gospel of our salvation so as not to offend the people of the world and to be more acceptable to those who are continuing in deliberate and habitual sin.

So many of them now are teaching that all we have to do, in order to be saved and on our way to heaven, is to make a profession of faith in Jesus Christ, done deal! But the Scriptures teach we must deny self, die to sin, and follow our Lord in obedience to His commands, in life practice, if we are to have salvation from sin and eternal life with God. For Jesus died and rose from the dead in order to deliver us out from under our slavery to sin so we will now serve Him with our lives in walks of obedience to His commands.

The Judgments of God

Now, all throughout the Scriptures we learn of the judgments of God which are to take place in these last days before the return of our Lord. I believe we are already beginning to see some of those taking place throughout the world and within the USA, which is where I live. I believe the beast is rising and he is already conquering people and nations throughout the world, and a one world order is already being formed. Lies and liars abound just about everywhere you look these days. It makes it hard to believe other people.

All is in God’s timing, though.

Jeremiah 1:17-19 BSB (Berean Standard Bible)

17Get yourself ready. Stand up and tell them everything that I command you. Do not be intimidated by them, or I will terrify you before them. 18Now behold, this day I have made you like a fortified city, an iron pillar, and bronze walls against the whole land—against the kings of Judah, its officials, its priests, and the people of the land. 19They will fight against you but will never overcome you, since I am with you to deliver you,” declares the LORD.

As Followers of Jesus Christ

So, as followers of Jesus Christ, what is our response to be to all of this? We are to be spreading the truth of the gospel of Christ to the people of this world. And right now, the internet (at least in the USA) is still wide open for us to be declaring publicly the truth of the gospel of Christ. But already I am beginning to see the potential of censorship taking place to where we will be limited to what we can say or not say in the near future. So the time for us to do this is now and it may be soon that this censorship will take place.

But… We are not to compromise the gospel message. We are to keep speaking the truth in love to the people of the world. We are not to allow ourselves to be intimidated by those who want to censor us, and who want us to dilute the gospel message to make it less offensive to the ungodly. And who are the ungodly? They are all who are living in addictive sin who have not surrendered their lives to Jesus and who are not walking in obedience to His commands, whether or not they profess faith in Jesus Christ.

Keep Speaking The Truth

Yes, we are to obey the authorities over us, but we are not to disobey God by compromising the truth of the gospel to be less offensive to the ungodly. Remember that Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, Jesus Christ, Peter, John, and Paul, et al, stood against those in authority over them when the authority over them commanded that they not obey God. And we are to do likewise. We must keep speaking the truth of the gospel to the people for them to be delivered out of sin and to now obey God with their lives.

For Jesus Christ taught that to come to Him we must deny self, take up our cross daily (die daily to sin), and follow (obey) Him. For if we hold on to living in sin and for self, we will lose our lives for eternity. But if we deny self, die daily to sin, by the Spirit, and we walk in obedience to our Lord and to His commands, in His power, then we have eternal life with God. For not everyone who calls Him “Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one DOING (obeying) the will of God (see Luke 9:23-26; Matthew 7:21-23).

Should I Not Preach Jesus

Christ’s Free Servant, Sue J Love

Woe to me should I not preach Jesus.

I’m compelled to preach the full gospel.

I make myself a slave to ev’ryone

To win their hearts to Christ.

All this I do for my Lord Jesus,

And for the sake of His Name;

Do it for the sake of His gospel,

So that I, its blessings gain.

Scripture notates the sins of others;

Written down for us as examples

To keep us from setting our hearts

On evil as did those of old.

Do not worship other gods of man;

Do not give your hearts to them;

Not partake in immorality.

Do not test your Lord and King.

So, be careful if you think you are

Standing firm in your faith in Jesus.

God has given His word to warn us,

So through faith we will not fall.

No temptation has o’ertaken you

Except what is commonplace.

God is faithful to not let you be

Tempted past what you can bear.

He gives the way of escape.
