Revelation 14:6-7 BSB (Berean Standard Bible)
6Then I saw another angel flying overhead, with the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation and tribe and tongue and people. 7And he said in a loud voice, “Fear God and give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come. Worship the One who made the heavens and the earth and the sea and the springs of waters.”
A Call to Ministry
Twenty two years ago, when I was 54 years old, the Lord
called me to this ministry of writing down what I was learning each day from my
times spent with the Lord in His Word, and then to post these writings on the
internet. But He also led me one day to do something which was unusual for me,
i.e. it was “outside the box” (an idiomatic phrase) from what I would normally
do. He led me one day in November to walk for 12 hours throughout my city
proclaiming that Jesus Christ is coming soon and that the people need to repent
of their sins and to believe the Good News of the gospel of Christ.
And one of the things which stands out to me about that day
was this one man who followed me outside of the restaurant where I had just
proclaimed these words to the people. He called out to me and he asked me to
repeat what I had just said. So I repeated it for him. And then he told me that
he did not need to repent of his sins, for all he had to do was just believe in
Jesus. And sadly this is what many people are being taught today, that they do
not have to repent of their sins nor obey God, but still be saved. But Jesus
taught we must die to sin and obey God to be saved from our sins.
The Eternal Gospel
So the eternal gospel proclaimed by the angels to the people
on the earth was not “just believe in Jesus and now all your sins are forgiven
and heaven is guaranteed you when you die.” It was to “fear God and give Him
glory, because the hour of His judgment has come.” And to fear God is to honor,
obey, submit to, worship, and revere Him. And to give Him glory is to honor,
praise, worship, and obey Him. And worship of Him is reverence, respect, and
obedience to Him and to His commands. Thus, we do what He says, and we follow
in His ways, and we forsake our sins because we love God.
The hour of His judgment on the earth will one day come, and
we will all have to stand before the Lord to give an account for what we did
with Jesus and with His gospel message. And there will be people who will say, “Lord,
Lord,” and they will list off all the things they thought that they did in the
name of Christ, but he will answer them, “I never knew you; depart from Me you
workers of lawlessness!” For “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will
enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father in
heaven.” Obedience to God is required for salvation (see Matthew 7:21-23).

Revelation 14:12-13 BSB (Berean Standard Bible)
12Here is a call for the perseverance of the saints, who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. 13And I heard a voice from heaven telling me to write, “Blessed are the dead—those who die in the Lord from this moment on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labors, for their deeds will follow them.”
A Call to Perseverance
The times in which we live are pointing more and more to the
last days and to the rule of the beast and to the persecution of the saints of
God. There is so much wickedness going on in the world, and in our nations, and
within the gatherings of many of what are called “churches,” at least here in
the USA. So many liars and deceivers. So much fakery. So much persecution and
rejection of those whose lives are surrendered to the Lord to obeying His
commands and to living holy lives, pleasing to Him. So this is a call to all
who are following Jesus Christ, to keep persevering and to not give up.
I am not God, so I do not know when our Lord will return or
when He will come to judge or when these things talked about in the book of
Revelation will all take place. But I do believe some of it has been going on
for a while, and I do believe that we are seeing signs of more to come in our
present age. I do believe that the church in the USA is in great need of revival
and that it will probably take some kind of a national tragedy to bring many
people to their knees in genuine repentance. But I do look forward to the day
when I will be with my Lord for eternity and sorrow will be no more.

Crucified you are
with Jesus.
To be like Him, oh,
you’ll be,
Because He died at
Calv’ry,
So from sin you’d be
free.
Oh, what joy He
brings into your life,
Giving life with Him
endlessly.
Oh, what plans He
has for your life.
Share the gospel
faithfully.
Show the people He
loves them.
Now His witness
you’ll be.
Tell the world of
sin about Jesus,
How He died for them
on a tree.
Purifying hearts, He
saves them,
Who believe on
Christ, God’s Son.
Turning now from
their idols,
New lives they have
begun.
Jesus saves from
sin; we’re forgiven.
Over sin, the
vict’ry He won!
When He comes again
to take us
To be with Him
evermore,
There will be no
more crying.
Gladness will be in
store.
Heavens joys will
now overtake us:
We’ll be with our
Lord evermore.
