Habakkuk 2

Then the Lord replied: "Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay."

King James Only 2

FYI: I am not a King James Version only person. I was raised on the KJV Bible, but I had a very hard time understanding it. For I had/have reading comprehension issues, and the KJV is not in my language, not in 21st century American English. I was in my early 20s when I was first introduced to the NASB by my pastor who was a godly man. And the word of God came alive to me for the first time in my life. I could now understand most of what I was reading, although it was still written above my reading grade level.

A few years later I was introduced to the NIV (this was when it was first coming out), and now I could understand what I was reading so much better. So I stayed with that probably most of my life (I am now 76 yrs old). But then when the latest update came out, I wasn’t happy with it, so I switched to the ESV and I used that for awhile until I started noticing changes in that one, so I went back to the NASB for a while. It is still over my reading grade level. So then I tried the NKJV, but it was not flowing well for me, so now I am trying the Berean Standard Bible. So far so good.

I am being faced with some harsh criticism for using a translation other than the KJV. And I am being accused of reading a translation which is being termed as “Satan’s counterfeit,” because it is not the KJV and because it is one among many more modern translations which are using some older original manuscripts than what the KJV used, and so they have removed a few verses included in the KJV which they believe were not in the original manuscripts. And from what I can tell, none of those are of a critical nature.

I have been a student of the Scriptures from probably as early as I could read, and I have taught the Scriptures for 50+ years, and nearly daily the past 20 years. I am a woman of God who loves the Lord and who serves him with my life and who follows his leading in my life every day. I am diligent in making certain, to the best of my understanding, that what I am teaching is truth and not lies. But the KJV of the Bible is not going to be what I use primarily, because I can’t understand it. If that bothers you, then you don’t have to follow me. You don’t have to read what I post. I mean that kindly.

Sincerely,
