On September 11, 2012, 11 years after the attacks on the Twin Towers in New York (USA), the Lord Jesus gave me this song to write in memory, not only of that tragedy, but of other tragedies, as well, such as the bombing of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, and Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans on August 29, 2005, and the assassination of JFK on November 22, 1963.
And through this song he is reminding all of us that he is calling each and every one of us to turn from our sins and to surrender our lives to him and to now walk in his ways and in his righteousness, in walks of obedience to his commands. For not one of us knows if we have tomorrow, do we?
But he is also cautioning all of us against putting our faith and trust in human beings who may lie to us and deceive us and lead us astray. We must be those who test everything in prayer and whose trust is in God to lead us in the ways of righteousness and to what is true, and who will point out to us the lies of the enemy so that we are not easily deceived. For not everyone tells the truth, and lies and liars are all over the place. So pray. Trust God.
For Our Nation
An Original Work / September 11, 2012
Bombs are bursting. Night is falling.
Jesus Christ is gently calling
You to follow Him in all ways.
Trust Him with your life today.
Make Him your Lord and your Savior.
Turn from your sin. Follow Jesus.
He will forgive you of your sin;
Cleanse your heart, made new within.
Men betraying: Our trust fraying.
On our knees to God we’re praying,
Seeking God to give us answers
That are only found in Him.
God is sovereign over all things.
Nothing from His mind escaping.
He has all things under His command,
And will work all for good.
Jesus Christ is gently calling
You to follow Him in all ways.
Men deceiving: We’re believing
In our Lord, and interceding
For our nation and its people
To obey their God today.
He is our hope for our future.
For our wounds He offers suture.
He is all we need for this life.
Trust Him with your life today.
