THE DREAM: I was working someplace where I had to try to keep containers (like cattle stalls) from overflowing after or while the particles that were being unloaded into the containers were being unloaded. In this case, potato salad was being dumped into these stalls from the north, and the potato salad flowed downhill toward the south. The stalls sat side-by-side west to east.
The potato salad was coming fast and furious into some of these stalls, so I had to work hard to try to keep the stalls from overflowing with the salad, but to no avail because the potato salad was coming at a very fast rate and I could not work fast enough to keep the stalls from overflowing. The potato salad began to overflow from several of these containers (stalls) – mainly from the one in the west first, and then flowing downstream toward the stalls in the east.
I know that I ended up to the east of the last stall trying to contain this overflow of potato salad. I had a cut on my leg. I was concerned about the potato salad getting into the cut and infecting my leg. A little later I looked at my leg again, and the wound was closed. END
Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening. I read Romans 9:1-29:
God’s Sovereign Choice
1 I speak the truth in Christ—I am not lying, my conscience confirms it in the Holy Spirit— 2I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. 3 For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers, those of my own race, 4 the people of Israel. Theirs is the adoption as sons; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship and the promises. 5 Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of Christ, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen.
6 It is not as though God’s word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. 7 Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children. On the contrary, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.” 8 In other words, it is not the natural children who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring. 9 For this was how the promise was stated: “At the appointed time I will return, and Sarah will have a son.”
10 Not only that, but Rebekah’s children had one and the same father, our father Isaac. 11 Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad—in order that God’s purpose in election might stand: 12 not by works but by him who calls—she was told, “The older will serve the younger.” 13 Just as it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”
14 What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all! 15 For he says to Moses,
“I will have mercy on whom I have mercy,
and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”
16 It does not, therefore, depend on man’s desire or effort, but on God’s mercy. 17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh: “I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” 18 Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.
19 One of you will say to me: “Then why does God still blame us? For who resists his will?” 20 But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? “Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?’” 21 Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?
22 What if God, choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath—prepared for destruction? 23 What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory— 24 even us, whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles?
… 27 Isaiah cries out concerning Israel:
“Though the number of the Israelites be like the sand by the sea,
only the remnant will be saved.
28 For the Lord will carry out
his sentence on earth with speed and finality.”
29 It is just as Isaiah said previously:
“Unless the Lord Almighty
had left us descendants,
we would have become like Sodom,
we would have been like Gomorrah.”
My Understanding: Potato salad mainly consists of cut up potatoes, mixed together with mayonnaise, though other ingredients might be added for flavoring. I wanted to understand the symbolism behind the reference to potato salad in this dream, so I looked up the meaning of potato, salad, and mayonnaise (the sauce that holds it together).
Potato - a rounded white tuber cooked in a variety of ways as a vegetable; a perennial plant that produces potatoes underground. Native to: South America. A tuber - a fleshy swollen part of a root such as a dahlia root or of an underground stem such as a potato that stores food over winter and produces new growth in spring; a small raised area or swelling on the body. White – “having the color of fresh snow or milk, as a result of the reflection of nearly all light from visible wavelengths; unmarked – not written on or printed on; pure – unblemished, especially in character” (Encarta). Salad – “a cold dish consisting mainly of a mixture of raw vegetables, whole, sliced, chopped, or in pieces, usually served with a dressing for flavor” (Encarta). Mayonnaise – “a rich creamy sauce or dressing made from egg yolks, vegetable oil, and flavorings” (Encarta).
What I saw from this is that this represents the underground church movement of believers in Jesus Christ who are committed to the spreading (swelling) of the true gospel message of salvation from sin through faith in Jesus Christ, and who are devoted to obedience to Jesus Christ and to living in purity before Almighty God. They are being represented as pieces of potatoes because potatoes are white inside and they are roots, symbolizing a root of righteousness and purity, because their faith is rooted in Jesus Christ, and also because Jesus is the root and we are the pieces (parts of His body).
The potato pieces (parts of the body of Christ) reflect the light of the gospel and Jesus Christ, who is the Light. They are unmarked by the world and the world’s system and they are pure of character because they have Jesus Christ living within them and working out through them. I believe specifically the Lord is pointing to Mexico – potatoes are native to South America - (news article referenced below) and also to the Middle East. Someone (represented by me in the dream – Obama/US Government/N.W.O.) is trying to contain them and to keep them from swelling and overflowing with the gospel message and infecting the open wound (perhaps sin) on my (USA) leg (part of an organization).
I also see that these pieces (parts of the body) are cut up – sliced into pieces through persecution or through death of the parts, and in this case this represents body parts being dumped underground into these cattle stalls (containers). The swelling of the body would thus be actual physical bloating of dead (cold as in cold salad) bodies, and that the containment here is either that physically the bodies (the dead) are outgrowing the containers and that there is danger of them being found or of spreading disease, or this is speaking more metaphorically of a containment of the news of the dead and the reality of why they are being killed from spreading, which fits possibly with the Mexico news article.
I see the mayonnaise as the cover story that holds this salad together and that keeps the truth contained. It is white, so it has an appearance of truth, purity and righteousness, yet it is just a smooth disguise for what our government and the N.W.O. are really doing world-wide in killing innocent civilians and innocent soldiers, too. The covering for the killings in Mexico is drugs (white), and the cover for the killings in the Middle East is protestors against pro-government demonstrators in multiple countries in the Middle East.
I read a news article (referenced below) presenting a case that states that Obama and the GOP are on opposing ends of a discussion over a proposed bill in Congress. The bill, supposedly, is for a new fighter jet engine and Obama supposedly is against it. The lawmakers must decide whether to vote for the engine or vote with Obama on immediate spending cuts. Apparently the GOP is for spending cuts to domestic programs, et al. and Obama is against these sharp cuts which he considers unwise cuts. What the Lord has shown me consistently is that there is no difference between Democrat and Republican; Liberal and Conservative, and that the real power behind our government is the New World Order and that the true governing body is the U.N. Security Council, not Congress.
I believe the Lord is showing me that the cuts that both Obama and Boehner support are these cuts of potato in the potato salad, i.e. chopping up the underground church, i.e. they are for attacking them and killing them in order to prevent the spread of the gospel and the increase of converts to Christianity (true saints of God). As well, the containment of the potato salad inside these cattle stalls was for the containment, I believe, of the news stories of the these people being killed, and the reason why they were killed, from spreading and for it infecting the open wound (cut) of a distinct part of an organization (U.S.).
In the Mexico article, I read that a U.S. Immigration agent was killed and another was wounded, supposedly as a result of drug wars in Mexico. Their vehicle was attacked by gunmen. It appeared, according to the article, as though the vehicle may have been stopped at a military checkpoint, which could also fit with these cattle stalls and the cut up pieces of potatoes into the “potato salad,” covered with mayonnaise (the disguise) to give it flavor (an appearance of something else) and to hold the story together. The closing of the American consulate in Ciudad Juarez was mentioned. In the dream, there was an open wound on my leg (a branch or unit of an organization), which would fit with American consulates or embassies in other nations, and at the end of the dream, the wound was closed.
This passage in Romans 9 is a very difficult passage to interpret, so I am going to just look at what I believe applies to this dream. Paul had unceasing anguish of heart for the sake of his brothers of his own race who had rejected Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. He wished he could be cut off from Christ if it meant their salvation. In a sense, I believe that is what is happening in these “cuts” of these potatoes in my dream, not that they are cut off from Christ, but their lives are being cut off because of their faith in Jesus Christ and due to their unceasing anguish of heart over their family (fellow countrymen) who don’t know Jesus Christ, which is evidenced by their strong commitment to spread the gospel message even knowing that they might be killed for their faith and for the sharing of the gospel.
Paul let his Jewish brothers know that just because they were born Jews and were descendants of Abraham that didn’t mean they were God’s children, because God’s children now are those who have put their faith and trust in God’s only Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. This applies to those who call themselves Christians, too. Just because their parents were Christians or they were brought up in the church, or even though they may have prayed a prayer to receive Jesus Christ as Savior does not mean they are truly Christians, i.e. saints of Almighty God. We cannot attain salvation through our physical heritage, by attending “church”, or by following a set of religious rules or even by going through a religious exercise called the sinner’s prayer, if the prayer is not followed by genuine faith, which is proved by repentance and obedience to Almighty God. Empty rituals do not bring about salvation. We are saved by grace, through faith, not of ourselves, it is a gift of God lest anyone should boast, yet faith that is genuine faith = repentance and obedience.
Lastly, I am no theologian so I am not going to go into great detail to explain this passage, plus I am not God nor do I pretend to completely understand all that he is or does, but yet I love Him with all my heart, and I trust him even when I don’t understand. He is God and he doesn’t have to answer to me for the things that he does. I do know that elsewhere in scripture it says that he is slow to anger and abounding in love and compassion and that he is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. I know he is all knowing, all powerful and he is present everywhere. And, I know that he is just. Because he loves us and because he wants us to obey him, and because he is God and he is righteous and he is just, he must judge us. And, I believe that he is judging the world right now and that those objects of his wrath are coming against his children with great fury, as Revelation prophesied would happen in the last days (See Rev. 12-13). Yet, a remnant of his objects of mercy will be saved through judgment, I believe, and they are being attacked right now.
So, what should our response be to all of this? We need to make sure of our salvation. We need to be certain we are not relying upon our parents, our race, our family, our church background, our religious rituals, possibly an empty prayer, etc. to secure our salvation. We must come to Jesus Christ humbly, turning from our sin completely and turning the exact opposition direction in full submission and surrender to God and to obedience to his commands. Then, when what is going on in the rest of the world reaches us and we are being affected, we will not die in our sin, but we will die as part of that remnant who is being saved and who will one day be with our Lord Jesus Christ forever in glory. Amen!
