Who are God's Children?

The apostle Paul was expressing his concern for his fellow Israelites, for the majority of them had rejected Jesus Christ as the Christ (the Messiah) and as the Savior of the world. And all who rejected Christ were no longer God’s chosen people, his holy nation, because God’s chosen people were now all who believed in Jesus Christ, whether Jew or Gentile by physical birth. For via Jesus’ death and resurrection, he made Jew and Gentile one nation, one people of God, by faith in Jesus Christ, no longer separate from each other.

“But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For they are not all Israel who are descended from Israel; nor are they all children because they are Abraham’s descendants, but: ‘through Isaac your descendants will be named.’ That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are regarded as descendants.” (Romans 9:6-8 NASB1995)

For biblical Israel is not made up of all who physically descended from Israel, nor are they God’s children because they physically descended from Abraham. So, it is not the children of the flesh who are the children of God, but the children of the promise. And, if we belong to Jesus Christ, then we are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise, for the promise was spoken to Abraham and to his seed, that is Christ Jesus, our Lord. So all who believe in Jesus are Abraham’s seed and heirs of the promise; not all Jews.

Now all Jews who do not believe in Jesus Christ are considered the same as their Arab neighbors who do not believe in Jesus Christ. There is no difference between them. For all Jews who have rejected Jesus as the Christ, their Messiah, and as the second person of our triune God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – they are not of God, but they are of the flesh of man. And they are the antichrist – denying both the Father and the Son. For all who deny Jesus Christ also deny the Father, because the Father and the Son are one.

Therefore, the present day physical nation of Israel is not biblical Israel. It is not of God, because as a nation, they have rejected Jesus Christ as the Christ, the anointed of God, their Messiah. Thus, they have rejected the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, because he is God – Father, Son Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit. And Jesus made it quite clear to his fellow Jews that if they rejected him that they also rejected the God of their ancestors. The present day nation called “Israel,” is of man, and it is a political nation, not of God.

So, biblical Israel is not the political physical nation called, “Israel,” which, as a nation, is antichrist. But biblical Israel is all who believe in Jesus Christ, whether Jew or Gentile by physical birth. So if you are giving your loyalty and devotion and support to the physical nation of Israel, you are supporting the antichrist, not what is of God. You are supporting a godless nation of people who are against God, and who are largely against God’s people, i.e. all who believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Read these Scriptures:

Pray for all who have rejected Jesus Christ as their Lord and Messiah, whether Jew or Gentile by physical birth, but don’t give your support and devotion to a godless political nation which is antichrist. Give your support to all who, by faith in Jesus Christ, have been crucified with Christ in death to sin, and raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin, but as servants of God and of his righteousness, in walks of obedience to our Lord’s commands. We need your encouragement!

And since “All Israel,” is all who are of genuine biblical faith in the Lord Jesus, please note that “all Israel” being saved is not all people who have physically descended from Abraham. “All Israel” being saved are all who are of faith in Jesus Christ, who have denied self, died to sin, and who are walking in obedience to our Lord, according to his commands, in the power of God, as a matter of life practice. For not all Jews have or will yet believe in Jesus Christ. Only a remnant of Jews will be saved (Romans 9:25-28).

And not all who profess faith in Jesus Christ with their lips will be saved, either. For Jesus Christ taught that to come to him we must deny self, take up our cross daily (die daily to sin), and follow (obey) him. For if we hold on to living in sin and for self, we will lose our lives for eternity. But if we deny self, die daily to sin, by the Spirit, and we walk in obedience to our Lord and to his commands, in his power, then we have eternal life with God. For not everyone who calls him “Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one DOING (obeying) the will of God (see Luke 9:23-26; Matthew 7:21-23).

My people have forsaken Me,

Their Savior, who died on a tree;

Made idols, and they worshipped them;

So empty, they will ne’er fulfill.

Lord, You are the hope of Your chosen ones.

Those who turn away from You will be shamed;

The Spring of Living Water left behind.

Living Water satisfies.

The thirsty, let them come and drink;

Believe in Jesus as their King;

The gift of Jesus given them,

So they will never thirst again.

Indeed, the Living Water flows within.

It springs up like a fountain cleansing sin.

Eternal life in heaven promised them.

Living Water glorifies.

Oh people, won’t you come to Him?

Obey Him and repent of sin.

Let Jesus come and live within.

Surrender all your life to Him.

My people, won’t you turn your hearts to Me?

Forsake your idols and then you’ll be free.

Won’t you come now to Me on bended knee?

Living Water sanctifies.
