Habakkuk 2

Then the Lord replied: "Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay."

Jesus Christ and God the Father are One

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.’

“Philip said to him, ‘Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, “Show us the Father”? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works. Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves.’” (John 14:6-11 ESV)

And Jesus said, “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.” (John 6:44 ESV)

Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation from sin and to eternal life with God in heaven. There is no other way to God the Father except through genuine God-persuaded and God-gifted faith in Jesus Christ. And none of us can come to faith in Jesus Christ unless God the Father first draws us to Christ, i.e. unless he first persuades us as to his holiness and righteousness, and of our sinfulness, and of our need to repent of (to die to) our sins and to follow our Lord Jesus in walks of obedience to his New Covenant commandments.

[Matthew 7:21-23; Luke 9:23-26; John 1:12-13; John 6:44; Acts 26:18; Romans 1:18-32; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:1-23; Romans 8:1-14; 1 Corinthians 10:1-22; Ephesians 2:8-10; Ephesians 4:17-32; Titus 2:11-14; Hebrews 3:1-19; Hebrews 4:1-13; Hebrews 10:23-31; Hebrews 12:1-2]

If someone claims to believe in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, but they do not believe in Jesus Christ as the Lord of their lives, then they do not believe in God – Father, Son Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit. And that is basically what Jesus was expressing to Philip. And it is what Jesus expressed to the Jews on several occasions, letting them know that he and the Father were one, and that if they did not receive him as the Christ, and as their Lord and Savior, then they also did not have God the Father as their Father.

So, how is it that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life? Well, first of all it is because he is God, the second person of our triune God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – and because he is our creator God who gave us physical life, and because he sacrificed his life for us on that cross in order to put our sins to death with him so that, through genuine God-persuaded faith in the Lord Jesus, we will die with him to sin and now live to him and to his righteousness in walks of obedience and surrender to our Lord Jesus Christ.

He is the Word (see John 1:1-36), so he is truth. And only through genuine faith in him can we become children of God. So he is the only way to God and to salvation from sin and to eternal life with God. And not only has he given all of us physical life, but by his grace, through God-persuaded faith in him, we now have life in God with God. But he said that if we would come after him we must deny self, take up our cross daily (die daily to sin) and follow (obey) him. For if we do not, we do not have eternal life with him.

So, we need to depend on Jesus’ teachings, and the teachings of his NT apostles (taught in context), to show us THE WAY, THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE. For so much of what is being taught about Jesus Christ, and about God, and concerning the gospel message of our salvation from sin, does not come from God (from Jesus Christ) and does not agree with God and with THE WORD. Far too much of what is being taught as truth are lies which are mixtures of truth and lies intended to deceive the unsuspecting.

So learn THE WAY to God and to salvation from sin and to eternal life with God in heaven via the teachings of Jesus and of his NT apostles (in context). Learn THE TRUTH in the same way, and by studying the Scriptures in their appropriate context, and not out of context, which is the way so many are teaching the gospel today. And learn THE LIFE that God has for us to live via the Scriptures taught IN CONTEXT without relying on other humans to tell you what the Scriptures teach. And test everyone and everything!!

For, according to the Scriptures, true faith and salvation from sin are gifted to us by God, and they are also persuaded of God. And God persuades us that we must die with him to sin, be reborn of the Spirit, and now walk (in conduct, in practice) in walks of obedience to his commands and in holy living, as empowered by God. For if we hold on to living in sin and for self, and if we do not walk in obedience to our Lord’s commands, then we do not have life in him, and we will not inherit eternal life with God. Know the truth.

Walking in The Light

When I lift up my voice, and

Sing praise unto God,

I will fellowship with my

Lord and Savior, King.

In Him there is no darkness.

He is in the light of truth.

If we walk in His light,

From sin He purifies.

If we repent of our sins,

He’ll forgive us now,

When we humble ourselves, and

Before Jesus bow.

The man who says, “I know Him,”

But does not obey His truth,

There is no truth in him.

In darkness still he’s found.

Do not love the world of sin,

For it is hell bound.

If you follow the world, you’ll

Not in Christ be found.

The world and its desires

Will not last; they’ll expire.

The one who does God’s will,

Receives eternal life.

See that what you have heard from

Christ remains in you.

Then, you’ll remain in Christ, and

In His Father, too.

This is what He promised us –

His eternal life with God.

So, continue in Him, and

You’ll receive a crown.
