Habakkuk 2

Then the Lord replied: "Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay."

In the Stillness of the Midnight

In the stillness of the midnight

When all’s quiet and serene

All the hustle bustle still now

And a person rarely seen

You can hear a drop of water

Hear the tinkle of a bell

Hear the ticking of an old clock

And can say that all is well

It is peaceful now, so quiet

All that chitter chatter gone

All the noises of the daylight

Will now wait ‘til break of dawn

All the noises and confusion

All distractions – this or that –

All the busyness and actions

Now are quiet, that’s a fact

Now it is the perfect timing

To have quiet time with God

For reading of His holy word

While reflecting on what’s taught

It is time to hear Him speaking

And for us to lend our ears

For us taking in His teachings

And relieve then all our fears

For it’s in these quiet moments

That we listen to Him best

When we’re free from all distractions

And we find in Him our rest
