Habakkuk 2

Then the Lord replied: "Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay."

Glorious Grace

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth” (Ephesians 1:3-10 ESV).

This is a song of praise to God, who is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He has blessed those of us who are his, by God-given and God-persuaded faith in him, with every spiritual blessing in Christ. That means that we have been given all we ever need for every situation in our lives through genuine repentant and obedient faith in Jesus Christ. He is all we need. He has adopted us as his children through Christ, “in accordance with his pleasure and will – to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.” Jesus Christ bought us (redeemed) us with his blood, he forgave us our sins, and he lavishes us with his glorious grace! Amen!

As well, he chose us in him even before he created the world. And what did he chose us for? He chose us that we should be holy and blameless before him. And we are made blameless through God-gifted and God-persuaded faith (repentance and obedience) in Jesus Christ, and because of what Jesus did for us in dying on a cross for our sins. When he died our sins died with him. Through faith in him we are crucified with Christ in death to sin, and we are resurrected with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, “created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness” (Romans 6:1-23; Ephesians 4:24). And to be holy means to be set apart (unlike, different) from the world because we are being conformed to the likeness of Jesus Christ.

Glorious Grace

An Original Work / August 8, 2012

Based off Ephesians 1:3-10 NIV

Praise be to God, the Father of Jesus,

Who has blessed us in heavenly realms.

For He chose us in Him from beginning

To be His holy children of God;

All in accord with His will and pleasure;

To the praise of His glorious grace.

In Jesus Christ we receive forgiveness.

We have redemption through His shed blood.

Glorious grace God freely has given us

In the One He loves and adores;

All in accord with the riches of His grace

Which He pours out on those He loves.

With all His wisdom and understanding,

God has made known His will unto us,

According to His will and good pleasure,

Purposed in Christ till all be fulfilled;

To bring all things on earth and in heaven

Under our Lord Christ; be unified.
