Life and love and hate and evil,
Peace and calm and oft upheaval,
Day by day, and ins and outs,
Faith and purpose, tears and doubts,
Sun and rain and sleet and hail,
Live with purpose, sometimes fail,
Morning, noon, and nighttime, too,
Middle age and old and new,
Never know what each day brings,
Have a lot; not many things;
Living here and sometimes there,
Oft in tune or unaware.
All of us are not the same,
Some are wild, some are tame,
Some are mean, and some are nice,
Some verbose and some concise.
Yet we all are born in sin,
Not in tune with God within,
Lacking purpose, not complete,
Our sin nature not defeat.
Jesus died to change all that,
Died so our sins He’d combat,
Win the battle now for us,
So our lives we’d now adjust.
Die with Him now to sins daily,
Live for Him, obey Him gaily,
Serve His purpose, do His will,
Be at peace, your heart be still.
