Let Your Heart Take Courage

Psalms 27:11-14 ESV

 

“Teach me your way, O Lord,

    and lead me on a level path

    because of my enemies.

Give me not up to the will of my adversaries;

    for false witnesses have risen against me,

    and they breathe out violence.

 

“I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord

    in the land of the living!

Wait for the Lord;

    be strong, and let your heart take courage;

    wait for the Lord!”

 

If we are walking with the Lord, in fellowship with him, in obedience to his commands, and in doing what he says to do, in truth, we are going to have people opposing us and coming against us, because many people don’t like the truth of the Scriptures and what they teach, largely because they don’t like being told what they should or should not do. So they reject God and his Word and they go their own way. So, if we are teaching the truth, we may be an offense to them, even though they choose to listen or to not listen.

 

But we must not let how others treat us or their opinion of us, or what words they say to us, take us out or discourage and dishearten us. We must keep on keeping on in obeying the Lord, and in doing what he says to do, regardless of how we are treated by other people, and regardless of what opposition we face or even from whom it comes. For it could come from family members or friends or other church people or from pastors. And sometimes we may find ourselves standing alone with no support.

 

So, especially when we are being opposed, but always we must seek after the Lord and his ways and let him lead us on a level (straight, upright) path, the path of righteousness, regardless of how we are treated, in return. And we must pray that we would not give way to fear or to the will of our adversaries, but that we would remain strong and courageous in our walks of faith in the Lord and in the truth of his word, and that we would keep on keeping on in serving him and obeying him.

Bombs are bursting. Night is falling.

Jesus Christ is gently calling

You to follow Him in all ways.

Trust Him with your life today.

Make Him your Lord and your Savior.

Turn from your sin. Follow Jesus.

He will forgive you of your sin;

Cleanse your heart, made new within.

 

Men betraying: Our trust fraying.

On our knees to God we’re praying,

Seeking God to give us answers

That are only found in Him.

God is sovereign over all things.

Nothing from His mind escaping.

He has all things under His command,

And will work all for good.

 

Jesus Christ is gently calling

You to follow Him in all ways.

 

Men deceiving: We’re believing

In our Lord, and interceding

For our nation and its people

To obey their God today.

He is our hope for our future.

For our wounds He offers suture.

He is all we need for this life.

Trust Him with your life today.
