An Original Work / January 17, 2022
Dead men, dry bones,
Wickedness fully formed.
Hearers not, doers nay,
So they all go out and play.
Lie now, lie then,
Truth not tell then to then.
Whispers here, whispers there,
Never once do say a prayer.
“Turn now this way,
Turnabout is fair play.”
Jekyll-Hyde, double mind,
Who is who is hard to find.
Trust not. Wisdom.
Learn from past. Get the hint.
Don’t play ball on their team,
Everything not what it seems.
Test them. Do see.
They have not bowed the knee.
So stiff-necked, stubborn now,
To Jesus Christ, they’ll not bow.
Caution. Don’t play.
Bent on lies, they’ll betray.
Read the Word, bow and pray,
Call on God without delay.
“Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls” (James 1:19-21 ESV).
