You say you love God, but do you truly?
For, your life is being lived unruly.
You say that darkness it did dissipate
But by your words you the truth now negate.
You say a lot of things that are untrue.
Believing what you say is hard to do.
Your witness is not pure, nor is your life,
For you count darkness now as part of light.
Your thinking now is not in line with God,
Your flesh now goes with you where’er you trod.
Following flesh instead of righteousness,
You still think God your life should surely bless.
This thinking not based on truth but a lie,
For you’re convinced that you’ll not surely die.
You think you are above the law of God,
But His word will prove to be true. He’s God!
For you can’t live your life just how you want,
Mocking the truth, and righteousness you taunt.
For, we are all accountable to God,
For all we do and everywhere we trod.
And one day Jesus will return to judge.
The truth you’ll not be able then to fudge.
For, we’ll be judged according to our deeds,
And if the gospel’s truth we well did heed.
“He will render to each one according to his works: to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury” (Rom 2:6-8; cf. Gal 6:7-8).
