Misgivings

Are you plagued with reservations,

Doubts and fears and hesitations?

Difficulties, lots of questions?

Thoughts of others? Their objections?

Many voices speaking to you

Has the tendency unglue you?

Voices plenty that you preview?

Disappointments that you renew?

Do you find yourself unsettled?

Others’ affairs in, you meddle?

Put your foot hard to the pedal?

Listening to the voice of devil?

So your life full of confusion?

Find yourself now disillusioned?

Almost always in seclusion?

Worldly pleasures your infusion?

Life is full of disappointments,

So the flesh is your enjoyment?

Live for pleasure your contentment?

Fantasy now your enchantment?

There’s a better life to live it,

If you’ll follow, if you permit.

Of the flesh not; of the Spirit,

Life to God you must now submit.

Die to sin and follow Jesus,

From our sins He will now free us.

Seeing ourselves how He sees us,

Live the way He will renew us.

Walking with Him in obedience,

We should do with much expedience,

Not just when it’s a convenience,

To our Lord give our allegiance.
