He is My Shepherd

Based off The 23rd Psalm

The Lord, He is my Shepherd.

In Him my needs supplied.

In Him, I am not wanting.

For me, He does provide.

He makes me rest in pastures

Of green. I do lie down.

He leads beside still waters.

My heart, it does not pound.

My soul He is restoring.

He guides me in His ways.

In righteousness He leads me.

It’s all for His name’s sake.

E’en though I walk through valleys

Of shadows of the death,

I will not fear the evil

That lurks, which is a threat.

For God, You are my comfort

In good times, and in bad.

I know that You are with me,

And so I am not sad.

A table You set for me.

My enemies look on.

My head You have anointed.

My vict’ry You have won.

You called me to Your service,

My cup now overflows.

Your goodness, lovingkindness,

My heart, it surely knows.

My life to You surrendered,

My choice to do Your will.

I’ll live with You forever,

Your love will my heart fill.
