Habakkuk 2

Then the Lord replied: "Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay."

Put Your Trust in God Alone

Amos 5:4-5 NIV

This is what the Lord says to Israel:

“Seek me and live;

    do not seek Bethel,

do not go to Gilgal,

    do not journey to Beersheba.

For Gilgal will surely go into exile,

and Bethel will be reduced to nothing.”

These places mentioned here are symbolic of places of idolatrous worship. Today, at least here in America, they could be the White House in Washington, D.C., or the Capitol Hill Building on Capitol Hill (USA). Or they could be institutional churches of various church denominations.

The message to us in the USA today would be for us to seek Jesus Christ, our Lord God, to go after him, and to follow him wherever he leads us in doing whatever it is he has commanded us to do. We are to deny ourselves, die daily with him to sin, and follow him in obedience, and live (Lu 9:23-26).

And the message for us would be for us to NOT go to our government or to our politicians or their political parties to save our nation from what ails it. Our hope is not to be found in flesh and blood, but in God alone. We are not to put our trust in princes who cannot save.

We are also not to put our hope in the institutional church which is the church unequally yoked together with the government and with the world, and which is patterned after the ways of the world, not after God. For the kingdoms of men are passing away.

Amos 5:14-15 NIV

“Seek good, not evil,

    that you may live.

Then the Lord God Almighty will be with you,

just as you say he is.

Hate evil, love good;

    maintain justice in the courts.

Perhaps the Lord God Almighty will have mercy

    on the remnant of Joseph.”

As followers of Jesus Christ, we are to seek good and not evil, that we may live. And we are to hate evil and love good. And yet so much of what is being taught in the institutional church today is teaching the opposite of this. For they are turning light into darkness and darkness into light.

They are teaching that we can “believe” in Jesus Christ, have our sins forgiven, be on our way to heaven, and yet still walk according to the flesh and not according to the Spirit. For, they make no requirements of repentance, obedience, or submission to Christ as Lord.

As well, they encourage government worship with the pledge (vow) of allegiance (fidelity) to the US government, with hand (deeds) over heart (the core of our being, of who we are). They encourage this worship, too, via the singing of patriotic songs and the honoring of our military as our heroes.

So, for us who were brought up in the institutional church from the 1950s and forward, we were conditioned to place the US government next to godliness and to look to our leaders as our saviors and to believe whatever they told us, too. I know that I did. It was considered right.

Evil, in general, is obvious. We know we are not to lie, steal, commit adultery, murder, bear false witness, and have other gods before God, etc. But then there is much hidden evil which is disguised as good, and this is where we need the discernment of the Holy Spirit.

For, not everyone is who they say they are, and not everything is as it appears on the surface. We live in an age of much deception and much disinformation which is intended to confuse, to distract, and to cause much division among us.

For example, left and right in our political system in America is a façade. For, left and right are just two sides of the same whole working together to cause division, confusion, upheaval, fear, and chaos. For, their goal is the takedown of our nation to bring us into a one world government.

Much of the institutional church serves a similar goal which is to break down our morals, our families, and our faith so that we end up still in bondage to sin, living for the flesh, doing what the world does, and not standing on the truth or leading people to genuine faith in Jesus Christ.

Amos 5:21-24 NIV

“I hate, I despise your religious festivals;

your assemblies are a stench to me.

Even though you bring me burnt offerings and grain offerings,

    I will not accept them.

Though you bring choice fellowship offerings,

I will have no regard for them.

Away with the noise of your songs!

I will not listen to the music of your harps.

But let justice roll on like a river,

    righteousness like a never-failing stream!”

Let’s think about this for a moment. What about our religious assemblies would God hate today, at least here in America? They may not all be bad, mind you, for there are still those who are truly worshiping God in spirit and in truth who have not adulterated the gospel of Christ.

But it appears the vast majority of them have turned the way of the world and of big business and they are marketing their assemblies to the world just like any other product on the market. So, they have altered their assemblies to make them more attractive to the world.

Thus, many pastors have turned into marketers, selling a product, using worldly means and methods to attract the world to their “product.” But what is the product? It isn’t the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is a Christianized version of the entertainment that the world is offering.

But it isn’t just entertainment, though that is a large focus of the gatherings. But the “church” has been turned into a place where people can feel comfortable and accepted and where they don’t have anyone in their face telling them they have to repent or obey the Lord.

So, the church is more like a social club where people can meet other people and make contacts and friends and where they can have a good time together and laugh and share common but often worldly interests, but where godliness, holiness, righteousness, and obedience are rarely taught.

Amos 5:25-27 NIV

“’Did you bring me sacrifices and offerings

forty years in the wilderness, people of Israel?

You have lifted up the shrine of your king,

    the pedestal of your idols,

    the star of your god—

    which you made for yourselves.

Therefore I will send you into exile beyond Damascus,’

says the Lord, whose name is God Almighty.”

And this is really the crux of the whole matter. There is a message that the Lord wants to get out to his people today, who are like the people of Israel of old, who are living adulterous and idolatrous lives. Too many Christians have put their faith and trust in men over or in place of trust in God alone.

So, they have also bought into the lies of these men and women who have led them astray from the Lord and from his calling and purpose for their lives. They have either bought into the cheap grace gospel which tells them they can be saved and keep on sinning, or they have believed that certain politicians or political parties and platforms can save them from tyranny.

But those who are preaching that you can be saved and on your way to heaven, and that how you live on this earth will in no way impact your eternal salvation, they are lying to you. God will judge you by your deeds, and if you continue living in sin, you will die, not have eternal life.

[Lu 9:23-26; Rom 6:1-23; Rom 8:1-17; 1 Jn 1:5-9; 1 Jn 2:3-6; Gal 5:16-21; Eph 5:3-6; Gal 6:7-8; Rom 2:6-8; 1 Co 6:9-10; 2 Co 5:10]

Also, the US government works for the Elite of the world, who are conquering the world, and who are bringing all the nations of the world into a one world totalitarian government and a one world religion. So, they are not our friends, but they are our enemies.

The big “C” preplanned global crisis that we have all been experiencing this past year, along with all its draconian measures that are yet continuing, is being used of the Elite to bring us into this New World Order. The handwriting is on the wall. This is where this is all headed.

So, why is this happening to us? God said it was going to happen this way. The prophets prophesied that this would take place. But it is a judgment of God on his wayward people who have looked to men (and women) and their lies to save them rather than to trust their lives to God and to God alone.

The wayward and adulterous church in America is under the judgment of God as well as our nation and its government are under the judgment of God, and both are being brought down. This is what we are seeing take place, and Republican and Democrat are in on it together.

So, stop putting your trust in humans and in their lies and in their false promises and false commitments to you and to your safety. Our government leaders are not our friends, but our foes. And those teaching the cheap grace gospel are not your friends, either. So, put your trust in God alone!!
