Habakkuk 2

Then the Lord replied: "Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay."

Rest for the Weary

This song is about our eternal rest, i.e. this is about our salvation, and how it brings us into God’s eternal kingdom where we find our hope for eternal life with God. And, yet, it also speaks to our need for physical, mental and emotional rest. Jesus gives us rest when we need it. He fills us with his peace and joy, he encourages and comforts our hearts and minds, and he reminds us of his many promises and of his grace and mercy to us. He encourages us to praise him and to give him thanks, to trust in his love, and to not give way to fear and to worry. He urges us to walk with him in obedience and surrender to his will and to find our refuge in him, instead of us looking to the things of this world to satisfy us.

Jesus speaking: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” ~ Matthew 11:28-30

Rest for the Weary / An Original Work / April 23, 2011

Based off of Matthew 11:28-30

Rest for the weary;
peace for the soul.
Light in the darkness;
mercy untold.
Perfect salvation;
pardoned and free,
For Jesus died
so that all may believe.

While we are waiting
for Your return,
Jesus, Redeemer,
let our hearts yearn
For your soon coming
to get Your bride,
Washed in Your blood,
having been sanctified.

Father, Son, Spirit,
all three in One
Giveth salvation
through redemption.
Jesus provided
the sacrifice
For our sins blood bought,
for He paid the price.
