Jesus is God the Son, the second person of our triune God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit
This is God speaking: Hebrews 1:8-9: But of the Son He says,
“Your throne, O God, is forever and ever,
And the righteous scepter is the scepter of His kingdom.
“You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness;
Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You
With the oil of gladness above Your companions.”
Jesus is called God.
John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:18 - No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father’s side, he has made him known.
John 8:24: Therefore I said unto you that ye shall die in your sins, for if ye do not believe that I AM, ye shall die in your sins.
John 8:58: "Jesus said to them, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.'"
John 10:30-33: "I and the Father are one." 31 The Jews took up stones again to stone Him. 32 Jesus answered them, "I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?" 33 The Jews answered Him, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God."
Col. 2:9: "For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form."
Titus 2:13 - waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ
2 Peter 1:1 - Simeon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained a faith of equal standing with ours by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ
Romans 9:5 - To them belong the patriarchs, and from their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ, who is God over all, blessed forever. Amen.
John 20:28-29 - Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
Jesus Christ is God. He is the second person of our triune God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Even God the Father called him God (Heb 1:8-9). The Jews killed him because he claimed to be God.
