Habakkuk 2

Then the Lord replied: "Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay."

In Holiness

When God says in his Word that we are to be holy as he is holy, he means that we are to be separate from (different, unlike) this sinful world, because we are becoming like Jesus. His idea of worship of him is that we offer our lives to him as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to him, which is our reasonable service of worship of him. We are to no longer be conformed to the ways of this sinful world, but we are to be transformed in heart and in the renewing of the mind, which is the work of the Spirit of God in our lives, as we submit to God’s Lordship over our lives. So, to worship God in holiness means we give our lives to him to live holy lives, pleasing to him, unlike this sinful world, no longer conformed to its ways, because he is transforming our hearts and minds and is conforming us to Christ’s likeness.

The way this worship of God in holiness is realized in our daily lives is in how we live our lives each and every day. Jesus died that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. Is this being reflected in our daily lives? Are we following him wherever he leads us, or are we going our own way, with an occasional nod his direction? Are we keeping his Word, not in sinless perfection, but as a practice of our daily lives? Are we walking according to the Spirit and no longer according to our sinful flesh? Does our walk match our talk? Are we letting our light shine before the people of this earth, or are we hiding our light under a bushel? Are we daily sitting at Jesus’ feet, drinking in his Word, listening to what he says, and then doing it? Or, do we walk away, forgetting what we look like? Is the love of Jesus flowing out from our lives into the lives of others? God/Jesus wants us to worship him in holiness!

Praise the Lord all you saints!
Worship God in holiness.
Trust in Him! Do not faint!
Believe in His righteousness.

God is faithful in all things.
He delivered you from sin.
Follow Him where’er He leads.
Witness daily. His words heed.

Trust in Him! He is truth!
He has not forsaken you.
Rest in Him! Let Him lead!
He will meet all of your needs.

When you go through trials deep,
He’ll be with you. He’ll not sleep.
Walk with Him throughout your day.
Read your Bible. Kneel and pray.

Give to God all your heart!
From His mercy ne’er depart.
Jesus died for your sin!
Walk in vict’ry. Live in Him.

Jesus paid the debt we owe.
From our lives His love should flow,
Living for Him ev’ry day,
Loving others, His words say.
