Isaiah 30:1-5, 15, 18
(NIV 1984):
Woe to the Obstinate
Nation
“Woe to the obstinate children,”
declares the LORD,
“to those who carry
out plans that are not mine,
forming an alliance, but not by my Spirit,
heaping sin upon sin;
who go down to Egypt
without consulting me;
who look for help to
Pharaoh’s protection,
to Egypt’s shade for refuge.
But Pharaoh’s
protection will be to your shame,
Egypt’s shade will bring you disgrace…
everyone will be put
to shame
because of a people useless to them,
who bring neither help
nor advantage,
but only shame and disgrace.”
…This is what the
Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says:
“In repentance and rest is your salvation,
in quietness and trust is your strength,
but you would have none of it…”
Yet the LORD longs to
be gracious to you;
he rises to show you compassion.
For the LORD is a God
of justice.
Blessed are all who wait for him!
Your Salvation /
An Original Work / May 29, 2011
Based off of Isaiah 30
In repentance is your salvation.
In quietness and trust is your strength.
The Lord longs to be gracious to you.
Blessed are all who wait for Him.
Pharaoh’s protection will be your shame.
Egypt’s shade will bring you to disgrace.
Ev’ryone will be put to their shame,
Because they trusted in man.
Woe to those who carry out their plans
Without consulting God their Savior.
God’s calling out for you to listen
And obey all He commands.
In repentance is your salvation.
In quietness and trust is your strength.
The Lord longs to be gracious to you.
Blessed are all who wait for Him.
