Habakkuk 2

Then the Lord replied: "Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay."

Who is Israel?

Many, many Christians in the USA are supporters of the nation of Israel, i.e. the Jewish people. They stand with the nation of Israel. But, is this biblical? Is this of God? Or, could this be of Satan and of the antichrist?

First let’s look at who is Israel and who is NOT Israel. The promises of God spoken to Abraham were to him and to his seed (singular), which is Jesus Christ, our Lord and Messiah, the Christ (Gal. 3:10, 16).

Jesus, in his death on a cross, put to death the hostility between Jew and Gentile and he made us both one in Christ, through faith in Jesus Christ, so that there is no more division between Jew and Gentile (Eph. 2:14-18).

Not everyone who is a Jew by physical birth is Israel. They are not all Abraham’s children. It is only the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring. So, who are the children of promise? ONLY believers in Jesus Christ (Rom. 9:6-8; Gal. 3:26-29; Gal. 4:22-31).

So, Israel is ONLY those who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and as Savior of their lives. So, where does that leave the Jewish people who don’t believe in Jesus? According to Scripture, they are of Hagar, for they are still in slavery to sin. And, they are the antichrist (Gal. 4:22-31; 1 Jn. 2:22).

So, if you believe that, biblically speaking, you are to support and to stand with Israel, then that would mean that you are to support and to stand with those who by faith in Jesus Christ are the children of promise.

And, that also means that if you believe that you are to support and to stand with the nation of Israel, you are standing with and you are supporting the antichrist, who is the persecutor of Christians. You are supporting the enemy (1 Jn. 2:22; Gal. 4:22-31).

"For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children. On the contrary, ‘It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.’ In other words, it is not the children by physical descent who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring." ~ Romans 9:6b-8

“His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility... For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.” ~ Eph. 2:14-18

“For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law… The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say "and to seeds," meaning many people, but "and to your seed," MEANING ONE PERSON, who is Christ.” ~ Gal. 3:10, 16

“So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” ~ Gal. 3:26-29

“For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman. His son by the slave woman was born according to the flesh, but his son by the free woman was born as the result of a divine promise. These things are being taken figuratively: The women represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai and bears children who are to be slaves: This is Hagar. Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children. But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.

“Now you, brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children of promise. At that time the son born according to the flesh persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. IT IS THE SAME NOW. But what does Scripture say? “Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman’s son.” Therefore, brothers and sisters, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.” ~ Gal. 4:22-31

“Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist—denying the Father and the Son.” ~ 1 Jn. 2:22
