Habakkuk 2

Then the Lord replied: "Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay."

Hunger Games

Tuesday, April 16, 2013, 5:34 a.m. – I was in bed praying, thinking about what took place yesterday, including, or in particular concerning the bombs that went off in Boston, when the name “Hunger Games” came into my mind. This was followed by this passage of scripture, which the Lord brought to my mind: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20Corinthians%2015&version=NIV

Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

“Where, O death, is your victory?
    Where, O death, is your sting?”

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

The Book

A friend shared a link with me the other day to an article about The Hunger Games (a book series, and now a movie by Suzanne Collins). The book is about a post-apocalyptic nation that exists where the countries of North America were once located. The scenario is not unlike what George Orwell wrote about in his book “1984,” or not unlike what we know or even think we know of Hitler and his regime during WWII. This is a totalitarian society. This is America today. Our government gives all the appearance to be what we grew up thinking it was, but that is in appearance only. Most of what we see is really a big game, i.e. it is for our entertainment, and/or it is for the purpose of distraction so that we don’t see what is really going on behind the scenes. In other words we don’t see who the real enemy is.

We think we live in a democracy, but we don’t. We think we are the good guys going throughout the world saving people. We aren’t. We think our military is in other nations protecting our freedoms. They aren’t. We think there is truly a right and left politically. There isn’t. We think Obama is evil and George Bush is good. Think again! George Bush is evil, too. We believe what we hear and read in the news. We shouldn’t. We fight among ourselves over who is right and who is wrong politically. They have us in their grasp. We believe 9/11 was a terrorist attack on our nation. Do the homework. We think the bombs that went off in Boston were the acts of terrorists. But, were they? Pray and ask God!

In the story The Hunger Games an “unelected autocracy” is truly who is ruling the country. That is true of America today, as well. Do the homework on Washington, D.C. – on their layout, structures, idols (statues), symbols, etc. and you will find that we are not a Christian nation, but we are a pagan nation and our government is loaded with images related to false gods, idolatry, paganism, Satanism and the occult, as well as to Freemasonry and the illuminati. And, a group of elites – power people – are truly who rule America. Do the homework on the history of our nation and the history of the U.N. and the meaning behind our symbols and our Great Seal and you will find the mystery begin to unfold before your eyes, if you are willing to see. Speaking of our political system:

Lies, smears, setups, intimidation, bribery, blackmail and graft are all part of a day’s work. All the while, the people watch and love the public spectacle, variously cheering and booing and rating the candidates and the groups they represent. Everyone seems oblivious as to the real purpose of the game. And just as in The Hunger Games, democracy manufactures discord where none would exist in society…

Everyone must fight to survive and conquer. They must kill their opponents or be killed. So coalitions form, and constantly shifting alliances take shape. This is the world that the state — through its election machinery — throws us all into. It is our national sport. We cheer our guy and hope for the political death of the other guy. The game makes people confused about the real enemy. The end result of this is destruction for us but continuing life for the Gamemakers. http://intellihub.com/2013/04/08/democracy-is-our-hunger-game-2/

This is what the Lord is showing me and has been showing me about the true state of our nation, but it is also what he is showing me about the bombs that went off in Boston. It is all part of our “Hunger Games” that our totalitarian leaders engage us in, as spectators, on a daily basis via the media and via their “false flag” operations, constantly trying to distract us and to make us think our enemy is elsewhere when our own leaders are the true enemy, as are those who are over them in authority, too, i.e. this “unelected autocracy” that truly rules our nation. So, don’t believe the government and don’t believe the media because they have control over mainstream media, including or even most especially Fox News. Listen to God. Inquire of him. He will show you the truth if you are willing to hear it.

The Encouragement

I believe we are in the final days before the return of Jesus Christ. We are either in the beginning of the tribulation period or we are certainly on the threshold, and it is not that far away. Things are only going to get worse and even more confusing, so we need to call on God in prayer unlike any other time in our lives, because major stuff is about to break loose and we don’t want to be deceived. Ask the Lord to show you what is really going on, and then ask him what your response should be to all this. And, then obey him.

The time of Jesus’ return is near. One day soon he is coming back for those who are truly his and we will be with him forever. Amen! Death has no dominion over those who are truly in Jesus Christ, for we will be resurrected into new bodies when Jesus returns. And, yet that is not the only encouragement here. While we still live on this earth in these flesh bodies we can be encouraged and we can have hope, not only of Christ’s return one day, but that we, because of what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross, can have victory over Satan and sin and his control over our lives day-to-day in the power and strength of God’s Spirit within us. Amen!

Things are going to get really bad. There is a reason Boston was chosen, perhaps for many reasons, but one that was brought to my mind yesterday was that it was the location of the first battle of the American Revolution. I believe the message yesterday is that a New American Revolution has begun and that was the first battle with more to come. So, don’t get caught up in it. Don’t let humans deceive you. Listen to God! And, keep on giving yourselves to the work of the Lord and the spreading of his gospel, because time is short.

The Gospel

Paul began his words (God’s words) here, as recorded in the 15th chapter of 1 Corinthians with these words:

Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

Notice the little word “if” in this passage of scripture. There are many such passages in the New Testament. True faith endures to the end. It is lasting. It overcomes (see Rv. 2-3). Things are going to get bad. We need to have this kind of enduring faith if we are going to stand on our faith when “all hell” breaks loose.

Then, Paul went on to describe the gospel story. Jesus Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose again. Over 500 witnesses saw him alive. It is important that we believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, because if he did not die, and if he did not rise again, we would still be dead in our sins and we would have no promise of eternity with God in heaven. When Jesus Christ returns we will be resurrected to new glorified bodies. Then the end will come. He will have conquered all dominions, powers and authorities that set themselves up against God. He will one day put all his enemies under his feet, and when this is finished, he will hand it all over to the Father.

There will be those who will try to mislead us into believing that no such event(s) will take place. We will have those who will try to convince us that we are going to experience peace, not trouble, hardship, famine or sword. There are those that even try to convince us to reject truth and to follow lies; to believe a lie that repentance and obedience to Christ are not critical to our salvation. We should not believe them, because scripture teaches otherwise (see Luke 9:23-25; Eph. 4:17-24; Ro. 6; Gal. 2:20). We are not to be misled by humans that would tell us lies and who would reject the truth, so we must be discerning.

“Bad company corrupts good character.” Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God—I say this to your shame.

Fully Surrendered / Alfred C. Snead / George C. Stebbins

Fully surrendered—Lord, I would be,
Fully surrendered, dear Lord, to Thee.
All on the altar laid,
Surrender fully made,
Thou hast my ransom paid;
I yield to Thee.

Fully surrendered—Lord, I am Thine;
Fully surrendered, Savior divine!
Live Thou Thy life in me;
All fullness dwells in Thee;
Not I, but Christ in me,
Christ all in all.
