Habakkuk 2

Then the Lord replied: "Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay."

My Testimony

August 18, 2015

I was born and raised in Akron, Ohio (USA), the third child of five born to my parents. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior when I was a young child. At summer camp one year, as I listened to the speaker preaching about God’s saving grace, my heart was heavy with my burden of sin. So, I got on my knees, poured out my heart to God in repentance and faith, and I turned my life over to Jesus Christ to be his forever.

I was brought up in the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church. Each week I drank in the word of God and wanted nothing more than to obey God fully in all things. I joined Youth for Christ, a Christian campus organization at my local school, and I became actively involved in that club. I was also very active in my youth group at church. Then, I got involved in Child Evangelism Fellowship and began teaching Backyard Bible Clubs for children.

I attended the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio, from 1968 to 1972, with a major in Music Education. It was there that I met my husband. In 1972 I married my husband Rick. He joined my church, and we began to be involved in ministry together there. We sang in various groups, taught Bible studies, and we worked with youth, children and adults.

Fast forwarding… In 1982 our family of six (Rick and I plus our four children) moved to the Southeastern United States, and that is where we have been ever since. Our four children grew up, got married, and had children of their own in the Southeast USA.

From 1986 to 1993 I went through a difficult period of time in my life when I struggled spiritually and I fell into sin periodically. I was going through a time of loneliness, hormonal changes, and rejection, and I was experiencing feelings of helplessness and despair. Sometimes, rather than leaning on Jesus’ everlasting arms, I escaped the pain through sinful behavior. In 1993 I rejected the life I had been living, and I committed myself to following my Lord consistently once again, with only one short relapse.

The last ministry my husband and I were involved in together was a ministry God gave us to college-age adults in our community, which ran for seven (+) years from 1999 to 2006, mainly out of our home. Then, one day the Lord closed the doors to that ministry, and he opened up another door of ministry for me.

In 2004, the Lord had called me to write out what he teaches me through his word, and to post it on the internet “so that a herald may run with it.” Yet, in 2006 he led me to do this nearly daily. Then, from April of 2011 to November of 2016 the Lord gave me a new gift – the gift of writing simple songs of faith, of praise and worship to my Lord God, and of sharing the gospel (of salvation) of Jesus Christ - songs which the Lord Jesus has included with many of my daily devotions. Today he continues to lead me to write out what he teaches me each day and to post it on the internet. This is my assignment from him; my part in the body.

I do believe we as Christians in US need to repent & turn back to God, but I also know that God has and is using US to spread the gospel. I also believe we need to open our eyes. I do not believe the US and it's citizens are the most evil country because we are one of the few countries that help other countries when they need help with floods, earthquakes etc. I do believe that Obama is not a good leader and he is doing evil things, but I also know for a fact that there are good people n our government that are standing up for what is right and for our constitutional freedoms and yes we have to keep fighting for them. As far as UN goes, no most of the UN consists of middle eastern countries that do not believe n democracy. I also know that n order to be saved you have to realize you are a sinner and repent and if you truly got saved, you will live for God and have fruits. I also believe in the rapture and believe that the one world govt happens after the rapture( when God's people are taken to heaven) and this happens also before the tribulation. Do you pray for the USA or have you given up? I haven't given up and as a group, many people are praying for our country at 6 pm eastern time every night and starting n January Franklin Graham(Billy Graham's son) will b going to all 50 states to remind God's people to repent and pray and God will heal our land. I hope you are also praying. God bless you

Donna, I appreciate you sharing your thoughts on what you view as the present situation in the USA and within the church in the USA. I agree that there are many sincere believers in Christ in the USA who are following Christ with their lives, and who are sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with the world at large, but they are in the minority.

As far as the evilness of our country goes, please take time to look into the founding of our nation, what it really was founded on, and look at the symbols on our national seal and see if they are Christian or not. Look at the layout of Washington, DC and all our buildings and statues that were patterned after foreign gods and goddesses, and look at what our government and military have been doing in other nations throughout the world by looking and seeing who is funding these terrorist groups, and how many of their stories are full of holes. Then look at the M.O. of what happens every time we go into another nation, and what the end result ends up being. Don't believe everything you read or hear in the main stream media, but prayerfully search out what is really going on with our government, and ask the Lord to open your eyes to the truth and to expose before your eyes all the lies. There is a whole lot more to our government than what meets the eye.

I don't believe in a pretribulation rapture of the church. I believe God is judging and will judge (discipline, correct) his church and that what was prophesied in scripture in Revelation 13 is happening now, in our day and time. The beast is rising, and it is conquering nations and peoples, and it is persecuting and killing Christians, and now this New World Order "Beast" is coming against America and is in the process of delivering persecution to Christians here, too. You can see it in the news stories, and in the speeches of Obama and the pope. The gospel of Jesus Christ and those who preach the gospel must be silenced so that all religions of the world can come together as one in unity. Other nations throughout the globe have already been subjected to this one-world government, and the US has led the way in forcing their compliance and cooperation with the New World Order. Now it is our turn.

Yes, I pray for the people in our nation and the people in the world. I pray for people to be saved, and for the church to be revived, and for the encouragement and strengthening of the persecuted church throughout the world. I weep over the spiritual condition of the church here in America, and I believe very much so that the church will be revived. If I had given up, I would not be writing what I do each day. I have been writing nearly daily for 9 years now, calling the wayward church to repent and to turn back to God, and warning of divine judgment. If I had lost hope, I would have no reason to keep going. Yet, my hope is in my Lord, not in humans and not in the government, and I do what I do out of obedience to my Lord, because I believe him and what his word teaches. And, so I will continue as long as he gives me breath and he continues to lead me in this direction. And, I believe God to change people's hearts and to restore and renew his church back to proper fellowship with him, yet I believe this is going to come through divine discipline (judgment), and that it has already begun.
